2011 Olympics Hockey 50p Circulated Coin
This coin was issued as part of a series of 29 Olympic 50ps in commemoration of London 2012, with each 50p featuring a different Olympic Sport.
The Hockey 50p was designed by Robert Evans who works as an engraver and sculptor for the Royal Mint. To capture the sport accurately, Robert took a number of photographs of two university hockey players to base his design on.
The design simply features 2 hockey players challenging for the ball.
